Information for contractors who are working in the premises of Region Gävleborg

It is important to know our rules and procedures before starting your work in the premises of Region Gävleborg. Confirm that you have read the information by filling in the form at the bottom of the page.

Photography is prohibited

  • Photography is generally prohibited in the premises of Region Gävleborg’ where healthcare is provided.
  • Permission to take photos is granted when photographing or filming within the scope of your assignment, for example, on existing technical systems and facility solutions.
  • Permission to photograph or film requires that staff and patients are never photographed or filmed without their consent.

Hygiene

For all reconstruction works in or next to care facilities, infectious agents can be spread via hands, clothing or objects.

Therefore, keep in mind:

  • stay home if you are ill. Remember that you are not only exposing your colleagues to the risk of infection, but also patients with impaired immune systems.
  • working at special units such as a sterile center, surgery department and where patients with impaired immune systems are cared for, a special dress code must be adhered to. Therefore, the responsible head of department must always be contacted prior to starting work.
  • work clothes, tools and materials used in health care premises must be visibly clean.
  • wash your hands with soap and water, and if possible, disinfect your hands prior to starting work in the health care premises. 
  • if possible, healthcare premises must be vacated and doors kept closed before work begins.
  • the door must always be closed when working in healthcare premises where there is a risk of splashing bodily fluids, waste water, and/or dust. The space outside must be vacated or closed off with tight walls (build a lock).

Safety

  • Tools and other items that can be used in the event of violence/burglary must not be left unattended. 
  • ID cards must always be carried clearly visible and be shown on request from security guards and hospital staff. Your work clothes must have your company's logo.
  • Remember not to let anyone you don't know into the hospital premises through locked doors.
  • If you suspect that unauthorized persons are in the area, please contact the security guard.
  • Do not under any circumstances let anyone out of locked areas that you do not know if they are staff members.
  • Within the premises of psychiatric care, work must be carried out two by two in teams. It is of vital importance not to leave tools unattended.

Smoking

There is a general ban on smoking within the area of the hospital. Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Permission

  • A work permit/certificate must be applied for and approved by the operating supplier at least three days prior to starting work. This applies to work which may or will include, for example, hot work, gas management, electrical work and switching off fire alarms. Other work that may disrupt operations or endanger operational security within the administrative area is also covered by the requirement for a work permit/certificate.
  • In the case of hot work in premises within the area of the hospital, it is required that the provider holds and can present a certificate.

Environment

  • Chemicals must be handled and stored in a safe manner to prevent the risk of spillage and leakage. Current safety data sheets for all chemicals must be accessible.
  • Gävle hospital is located in a water protection area. When working with chemicals, absorption material must be accessible.
  • Contact the emergency services immediately in the event of a spill or emissions outdoors.
  • Hazardous waste must be sorted, handled and stored in a safe manner to prevent the risk of spills, leaks and emissions.

Information security and data protection

Information is valuable, both for Region Gävleborg and the individual. Therefore, it must be protected as needed, for example:

  • be careful not to leave sensitive documents or drawings unattended or lying on desks.
  • keep conversations containing sensitive information in a place where outsiders cannot overhear.
  • be careful how you parcel out personal information.

Secrecy/duty of confidentiality

  • Region Gävleborg processes classified and confidential information pursuant to the Swedish Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act Examples of confidential information are technical descriptions or drawings/models containing the same.
  • During the ongoing and after completion of the assignment, you must not disseminate, pass on or disclose information about Region Gävleborg's patients, activities or operations.
  • breach of confidentiality or disclosure of confidential information can result in serious damage to individuals, companies and Region Gävleborg's operations, and can entail penalties for you and your employer.
