Region Gävleborg is now – for the third time - announcing the International Residency and Scholarship in relation to our UNESCO World Heritage site; Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland
The Residence Scholarship for the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland (Hälsingegårdar) was established in 2018 by the Regional Assembly. The Scholarship is aimed at individuals who have an idea related to the UNESCO World Heritage List and who are interested in the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland in connection with other world heritage sites.
The World Heritage Scholarship is a residency that involves
- the receiver staying and living in one or two World Heritage farms for a period of one month
- a grant of 5,000 € to carry out the idea/project in question
The scholarship is international and can be applied for by people from all over the world, such as researchers, artists or other cultural actors.
Region Gävleborg awards the Residence Scholarship for the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland to a person who has an idea related to the UNESCO World Heritage List and is interested in connecting the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland with other sites.

The World Heritage Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland Residence Scholarship includes a one month stay in one or two of the seven world heritage farmhouses. As a recipient of the scholarship, you have two farms to choose from: Kristofers in Järvsö or Erik-Anders in Söderala.
Kristofers in Järvsö
At Kristofers you will live at the farm in a small apartment. Sheets and towels are provided. The apartment has a kitchenette. At the farm, the owners manage a working farm with animals, fields and forests. The farm is a few kilometers from Järvsö where there are shops and restaurants set in natural surroundings.
You cook your own food and live close to the farm owners. You have access to a car that allows you to explore the surrounding area.
You can only stay at the world heritage site Kristofers during the three summer months of June, July and August.

Erik-Anders in Söderala
At Erik-Anders you live in the farm’s newly built hotel which includes breakfast, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi. You have access to a kitchenette where you can cook.
Erik-Anders is located just over 10 kilometers from Söderhamn, where there are shops, restaurants and the seafront. On the farm, there is a café and hotel. You will live close to the farm owners. You will have access to a car that allows you to explore the surrounding area.
You can stay At Erik-Anders between April and November.

Application
Your application must be sent between January 18th 2021 and Februari 18th 2021.
Follow up report
Your follow up report for approved scholarship has to be sent in to Region Gävleborg at the latest one year after.
